PROJECT: Long Distance Cargo Drone Network

PROJECT: Long Distance Cargo Drone Network

Project partners:

Start project:

January 2020 (existing project)

Project goal:

Develop, build and operate a long-range cargo drone network to support logistics operations for land, port areas, Wadden Islands and Offshore Energy utilizing drones. The ambition is a network of drones that can transport a load of 50 kg over a distance of 200 km and more, with the aim of maximum autonomy. The project will be across the axes of process (supply chain and UAS operational processes, legal), technology and people are set up and executed through validation tests, pilots and commercial operational flights. The program is a METIP initiative in relation to the cooperation agreement between Energy Reinvented Community, METIP and DroneQ Robotics, where the test locations cover the entire Dutch coast. Logistics operators are also involved in the project, enabling the drone delivery processes developed by DroneQ to seamlessly integrate into the Supply Chain processes. Many tests and validations have already been carried out during 1 1/2 years and we are now working step-by-step towards long-range drone deliveries and further development of the experience and expertise in the field of long-distance cargo drone deliveries.

One of the objectives of the Long Distance Cargo Drone Network project is to make an active contribution to the most important objectives of the Climate Agreement: reducing emissions.

We would be more than happy to talk to you about how we are going to achieve this!
